Estevao Willian shares why he joined Chelsea ahead of Arsenal, others

Chelsea new signing Estevao Willian has shared why he opted to join the Blues amid interest from top clubs.

Recall that Chelsea on Wednesday confirmed the arrival of the Brazil teenager who they had reached agreement with ahead of the current transfer window.

The Blues were able to seal a deal for Willian ahead of top clubs likes Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid, among others, who were rumoured to have had an eye on him.

In his first-ever interview for Chelsea, Willian revealed the reason for his decision to join Chelsea over other clubs.

The Brazilian stated that the Blues plans and structure was what made him interested in joining them.

“Their plans, the structure and the club. Everything. But mainly the plans and the project the club has is what interested me and my family, and I think it was the best decision we could have made,” he said.

Willian, who is nicknamed ‘Messinho’ due to his footwork and style, has been praised by a number of former Chelsea players.

The Brazilian is one of the brightest prospects in football at the moment and has the potential to become world star in future.
