EPL: Why Chelsea suffered 1-1 defeat vs Nottingham Forest

Chelsea manager Graham Potter has opened up on why they were unable to defeat Nottingham Forest in their recent 1-1 match on Sunday.

According to Potter, Chelsea ‘did not deserve’ to win the game as he slightly blamed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for failing to take the only chance the Blues had in the second half.

Chelsea’s draw against Nottingham Forest on Sunday saw them drop seven points behind the top four.

The game started with Raheem Sterling scoring a goal for the Blues in the first half.

But Forest went all physical and created problems for the West Londoners throughout the second half and they scored an equaliser mid-way through the second half from the boots of Serge Aurier.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, the Chelsea boss said: “A hard-earned point, against a team that are set up well. They put us under pressure second half.

‘Our performance level wasn’t good enough to take the three points. We didn’t move the ball fast enough.

“Pierre [Emerick Aubameyang] had a good chance but it would’ve been unfair to take the three points.”
