EPL: Everton end Chelsea unbeaten run

Chelsea were visitors at the Goodison Park last night where they played against the Carlos Ancelotti’s led Everton squad in the Premier League.

The Blues had hoped to win all three points that could have seen them move to the top of the league but Everton thwarted that dream as the game ended in a 1-0 scoreline in favour of the host club.

Everton won the three points all thanks to  Gylfi Sigurdsson’s penalty, they also ended the Blues undefeated run in 18 games.

Chelsea under manager Frank Lampard are now two points adrift of Tottenham and Liverpool at the top of the table and it could increase if the two top clubs win their matches today.

The Blues did their best against Everton but there was absence of creativity in their squad as the presence of injured Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic would have helped them to break down Everton’s defence.

Everton have now moved to the 7th spot on the EPL table and a point away from the top four.

Lampard will be hoping for the return of Pulisic and Ziyech in the team ahead of their next match against the Wolves on Tuesday who are also a hard nut to crack.
