Leicester City have sacked Brendan Rodgers as the club’s manager.

Rodgers’s sack comes after Leicester City’s 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace, which saw the Foxes slip into the bottom three with 10 games remaining.

Leicester City in a statement on Sunday announced that a “mutual agreement” had been reached with the 50-year-old, who had been coaching the club since February 2019.

Coaches Chris Davies and Glen Driscol also left with Rodgers.

This means goalkeeping coach Mike Stowell and first-team coach Adam Sadler will take charge of their fixture against Aston Villa at King Power Stadium on Tuesday.

Rodgers led the Foxes to consecutive fifth-placed finishes in 2020 and 2021 and won the FA Cup for the first time in their history two years ago.

It is unsure what Rodgers’ next move would be as he might take a break from football for the rest of the season.
