Premier League giants Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United were among the clubs that voted against banning loan deals between related clubs on Tuesday.

The Times in a report listed the seven clubs who voted against the ban and they are Newcastle, Chelsea, Manchester City, Sheffield United, Everton, Wolves and Nottingham Forest.

All Premier League clubs voted on banning loan transfers between clubs with shared owners and were split 13-7 in favour.

But 14 votes are needed from Premier League clubs to pass such a law, which means that it will not be implemented ahead of the January transfer window.

As a result of this, Newcastle United for instance are still able to sign players from Saudi Pro League clubs that their owners, the Public Investment Fund, have majority stakes in.

Meanwhile, the Premier League games will return this weekend as the International break ends this week.
