The latest report has claimed that German club Borrusia Dortmund have defeated Man Utd and Chelsea to sign Bayer Munich defender Niklas Sule.

Sule will see his current contract at the Allianz Arena end this summer and will be available on a free transfer.

Owing to this, there are a number of top European clubs, including Chelsea and Man Utd, who have been heavily linked with the German defender.

During the weekend, Sule’s agent claimed that his principal had already decided which club to join at the end of the season.

It, however, seems the club is German side Borussia Dortmund.

This comes as Frankfurter Rundschau claimed that Dortmund had won the race for Sule’s signature, beating the Blues and Man Utd in the process.

The German side have since confirmed that a deal has been struck with Sule, who will sign a four-year contract at the Westfalenstadion.

This will make the third German club Sule will join, having already made a total of 275 appearances for Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich.

Chelsea will have to look elsewhere in the summer if they intend to sign a new defender.
