Despite not scoring vs Brentford, Tuchel hails this player

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has applauded Kai Havertz’s performance vs Brentford in the Premier League over the weekend.

This is coming ahead of their next match vs Spanish club Real Madrid in the UCL on Wednesday.

The game comes after the Blues were held to a shameful 4-1 defeat to Brentford.

Even though Germany international Antonio Rudiger was the player that scored the lone goal for the Blues, Tuchel is full of applause for Havertz even though he didn’t score.

Havertz had scored four goals in his previous three appearances for the Blues before the international break.

Tuchel was still impressed with the centre-forward, who is fast taking over from Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

The Blues manager, in a statement, said ‘I felt he (Havertz) was our strongest player. He worked like an animal and he was very dangerous. I’m very happy with his performance.’

Havertz is expected to return to the forefront when the Blues host Real Madrid on Wednesday as they hope to bounce back.
