Deal Almost Done: Man United very close to signing Chelsea target

Manchester United are very close to signing Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, as per different reports.

Jadon Sancho was United’s essential target this summer, and they achieved that mission recently at long last, kindly agreed with Borussia Dortmund. Priority number two is finding a partner for Harry Maguire, and in light of that, Varane has been the talk of the town.

The France international is out of contract at Real Madrid in a year, and at 28, Man United consider him to be the best option to add some insight to the back line while also settling into a starting role for the long term. Vilarreal’s Pau Torres and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde have also been touted, but it appears to be a deal for Varane is very close to been completed.

It was accounted for last week that talks between Man United and Real Madrid are progressing well, and presently AS journalist Edu Cornago has guaranteed that a deal is ‘close.’

He was asked for some information about the timescale on a likely deal on twitter, and reacted by saying that Varane ‘welcomes the option’ of joining Man United, and isn’t persuaded by the possibility of remaining at the Bernabeu.

This came hours before fan podcast United Muppetiers made a comparable claim. Their information was more indecisive, however the general idea is that everybody from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to the player himself is eager for the deal to happen, and that the possibility of signing another deal in Madrid is for all intents and purposes off the table.

It’s not satisfactory where their information is coming from – it might well be a rewritten version of what is being guaranteed somewhere else, given it came out nine hours after the fact – however in any case, it is starting to seem like Varane to Man United might involve ‘when’ rather than ‘if’.
