Deal Almost Done: Chelsea agree £20m fee to sign Fenerbahce defender

Chelsea have supposedly agreed with Turkish giants Fenerbahce for the signing of centre-back Attila Szalai.

The Hungary international has been a regular for Turkish giants over the last two seasons and has also played for Hungary at senior level 21 times.

The Blues were supposed to be battling with Atletico Madrid for Szalai, but apparently the Premier League leaders Chelsea have now won the race.

CNN Turk asserts that Thomas Tuchel’s side will pay £20m for the defender, with that deal set to go through in the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old will give competition to Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva and Trevoh Chalobah in the core of Chelsea’s defence.
