The forward is apparently ‘one step away’ from moving back to Chelsea, with Premier giants agreeing a £97.5m fee with Inter Milan for the striker.

The 28-year-old has recently emerged as Chelsea’s top target in the last third of the field, and conversations between the Premier League club and Inter have sped up in the last 24 hours.

As indicated by Sky Italia, Chelsea have now agreed a transfer fee for the Belgium international, who will cost Thomas Tuchel’s side £97.5m.

The report guarantees that no players will be incorporated as makeweights, with Inter enthusiastic about a cash only deal because of their financial issues in the midst of the Covid pandemic.

Italian columnist Fabrizio Romano has asserted that the ex-Anderlecht youngster has effectively agreed personal terms at Stamford Bridge, with the Belgian set to get £10.2m each year.

Lukaku previously played for Chelsea between 2011 and 2014 but failed to score in 15 appearances during a difficult spell in the early stage of his career.

Romelu Lukaku has scored 64 goals in 95 appearances for Inter Milan during the last two seasons, and he has scored 113 times in 252 Premier League outings during spells with Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United.
