Chelsea duo sign temporary contracts extension

Chelsea have purportedly concurred temporary contracts with Willian and Pedro to keep the wingers at the club until the end of the campaign.

The pair have spent combined 12 years at Stamford Bridge and were expected to become free agents one week from now.

Nonetheless, there are reports that the two players have signed a short-term contract extensions to see out the rest of 2019-20 season, which has been stretched out due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Pedro is due to join Roma when the summer transfer window opens, while Willian is a supposed target for various Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will currently have the option to call upon the attacking pair for the rest of Chelsea’s Premier League games, just as in the FA Cup and Champions League.

Chelsea have already done early business by signing RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner and Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech, the Blues are still pushing to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and Ben Chilwell from Leicester City.
