Arsenal are increasingly confident of signing Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi this summer, but manager Mikel Arteta must meet a specific condition to seal the deal, according to reliable sources.

Meanwhile, a separate £17m move for Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera has reportedly hit a snag, per the latest reports from Spain.

Despite boasting one of the Premier League’s strongest defensive pairings in William Saliba and Gabriel, Arteta is seeking to bolster his options at the back. The Gunners conceded just 34 goals in 38 matches last season—second only to champions Manchester City—but injuries to Takehiro Tomiyasu and inconsistent performances from Jakub Kiwior have raised concerns over depth.

Guehi, who is entering the final year of his contract at Selhurst Park, is high on Arsenal’s radar. The 23-year-old England international has impressed with his composure, leadership, and ability to play out from the back, making him an ideal fit for Arteta’s style of play. While Crystal Palace initially valued Guehi at £70m, TEAMtalk reports that they are now willing to accept £45m, with Arsenal, Liverpool, and Newcastle all monitoring the situation.

Journalist Sami Mokbel has revealed that Guehi would be keen on a move to the Emirates, but Arsenal must first offload one of their existing defenders to make room.

Meanwhile, talks over the potential £17m signing of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia have reportedly stalled, with the Spanish club holding firm on their valuation.

Arsenal’s defensive plans remain a key focus this summer, with Arteta aiming to add both quality and depth ahead of another title challenge.
