Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin has sent a message to the club to make a move for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.

According to Nevin, Osimhen could be the answer to Chelsea’s search for a striker similar to the club’s legend Didier Drogba.

Chelsea are in need of a proven goalscorer, with the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang currently in doubt at the club.

The Blues are yet to sign a reliable striker that can replace Drogba at the club since the Ivorian left many years ago.

The likes of Alexandre Pato, Hernan Crespo, Andriy Shevchenko, Claudio Pizarro, and Samuel Eto’o all failed to fill Drogba’s shoes at Chelsea.

Writing in his column for The Daily Mail, Nevin believes that Osimhen could be the perfect striker to replace Drogba at Stamford Bridge.

He said, “Everybody knows they [Chelsea] need somebody to put the ball in the net.

“They could go out and sign a striker, but Chelsea’s history of buying strikers at the wrong end of their career is extraordinary.

“They want somebody at the right end of their career who can become like Didier Drogba. I would get Victor Osimhen from Napoli if it was up to me.”
