Chelsea to sign Barcelona £43m midfielder

With a few days left to the end of the summer transfer window, Chelsea have yet again been linked with move for another player.

This time around The Athletic reported that the Blues are considering submitting a bid around £43 million for Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, is said to be keen on strengthen his midfield ahead of the transfer deadline.

The reports claimed the West London club have contacted Lopez’s agents, although there is no concrete offer yet.

Lopez, 22-year-old, is an important player in manager Hansi Flick’s squad and is on the verge of making 100 appearances for the Spanish giants.

Lopez played in 46 matches, scoring eight goals and registering 10 assists in all games last season.

It also included six goals and five assists in LaLiga, as Barcelona became the Spanish champions.

So far this new season, Lopez has featured for 45 minutes as Barcelona started with a win against Real Mallorca.

However, he was left on the bench for their 3-2 victory over Levante last weekend.

The Blues have a few days to wrap up this deal for the Barcelona midfielder and every of their other transfer plans.
