Chelsea to be without Silva vs. Man Utd

The weekend is expected to be an exciting one in the premier league with Chelsea set to face  Man Utd at Stamford Bridge.

The match is considered a big challenge for new Blues coach, Thomas Tuchel which if won will reassert Chelsea as a top club in the Premier League.

However, ahead of the faceoff, a report has revealed that the Blues will be without their experienced defender, Thiago Silva.

[Thid was confirmed by Tuchel in a pre-match statement.

The top-rated defender has been ruled out yo miss the match vs. Chelsea following a thigh injury he sustained in the win over Tottenham Hotspur on February 4.

Although the Brazil star returned to first-team training last week, he was however not deemed fit to feature in the 1-1 draw against Southampton on Saturday and was also unavailable during the Champions League win against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

We have no new injury concerns Thiago can’t play on Sunday,” Tuchel said.

The German manager added that Silva did an individual session on the pitch during training and it was a big step for him but he would join the group next week hopefully.

Chelsea are currently seated at the 5th spot on the log while Man Utd are at the second spot behind topper, Man City.
