Chelsea target turns down pay cut, Romano gives update
Chelsea may have to turn their attention elsewhere as they may not be able to sign Victor Osimhen this summer.
A recent update by popular football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Nigeria international has refused to reduce his salary amid interest from the Blues.
Romano made this known in a tweet via his X account on Monday evening.
According to the transfer expect, the west London side are still exploring options with Napoli to sign Osimhen this summer.
Romano added that the Naples are also still interested in signing Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku for their manager Antonio Conte as Osimhen is expected to exit the Serie A club.
The transfer expect stated that there are no changes so far on Osimhen’s deal with Chelsea.
Romano said Osimhen is not open to straight loan or open buy option right now.
While the Nigerian footballer is still expected to leave Napoli this summer transfer window, there are no concrete changes yet.
Aside from Chelsea, Osimhen has been linked with a return to the French Ligue 1 where he could sign for PSG who consider him a worthy replacement for Kylian Mbappe who left the club the summer to sign for Real Madrid.
