Chelsea are keen on signing a right-back defender and have been linked with moves for Malo Gusto.

It is said that the Blues have already taken some huge steps to sign the player from Lyon in the ongoing January transfer window.

A tweet by Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed Chelsea are in direct contact with Lyon for Gusto.

He revealed personal terms are already agreed on a long-term deal, with the player open to the move. The French club are, however, yet to accept a transfer bid.

The reports from France revealed that Lyon want Gusto to stay till the end of the season.

However, with his current deal running out in the summer of 2024, the French club might have a tough time turning down a good offer from Chelsea.

Chelsea need another option at right-back, especially with Reece James’s injury problems.

The west London side appeared to have beaten Real Madrid to sign Gusto as they could get a deal done before the January transfer window closes in a matter of days.
