Chelsea suffer transfer blow in bid to sign Ecuadorian midfielder

Chelsea may have to focus on signing a new midfielder from another club aside from Brighton.

This comes as the Seagulls have once again rejected the Blues’ bid to sign Moises Caicedo.

This makes it the third time Chelsea will submit a bid for the midfielder who they are keen on signing before the summer transfer window closes.

The report revealed Brighton had the Blues’ £80million bid for the Ecuadorian rejected on Thursday.

Chelsea want to sign the Ecuador star this summer, following the exit of the likes of N’Golo Kante to Saudi Arabia, Mason Mount to Man Utd and Mateo Kovacic to Man City.

For this reason, the Blues have made it their mission to sign Caicedo to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Italian football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the Blues’ latest offer has come in at £80m.

But that was instantly turned down as the Seagulls continued to hold out for £100m.

Chelsea had previously submitted a bid of £70m
