The recent reports revealed Chelsea striker and Belgium star Romelu Lukaku is ready to accept a big pay cut to join Italian club Inter Milan permanently.

Lukaku, who was at San Siro on loan during the 2022/2023 campaign is now keen to return there ahead of the new season.

This comes as Chelsea no longer want a loan move for Lukaku but a permanent transfer as they are trying to convince him to move to Saudi Arabia.

To make the move possible for the Serie A side, which he preferred to join, the report claimed that Lukaku is willing to take a £1million pay cut to join Inter.

Sky Sports’ Paul Gilmour said: “As of today, there is still no agreement between Chelsea and Inter Milan for any potential permanent move for Romelu Lukaku.

“Chelsea are not interested in another loan.

“We have learned that Lukaku is willing to take a pay cut worth almost £1m per year to get this move to Inter.”
