It appears Chelsea may soon bid goodbye to their striker, Timo Werner in a matter of days as the recent reports claim he is set to rejoin RB Leipzig on a permanent deal.

Recall that Werner left the German Bundesliga sig to sign for Chelsea in a £45million transfer in 2020.

However, he has struggled to impress at Chelsea and will now return to the club where he made it to the limelight.

This was confirmed by popular football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, on Sunday.

Romano tweeted: “Leipzig are set to sign Timo Werner from Chelsea, here we go!

“Been told it will be a permanent deal and NOT loan. Werner will leave Chelsea.

“First call @Plettigoal today, now final details being discussed – it’s done, personal terms are agreed since 1 month.”

Should Werner leave Stanford Bridge, he would become the second striker to leave the west London side this summer, after Romelu Lukaku returned to Inter Milan on loan.
