Chelsea star want to speak with Pochettino before signing new deal

Chelsea player Levi Colwill expressed his desire to speak with the club’s new permanent manager Mauricio Pochettino before signing a new contract at the club.

Chelsea are keen on handing Colwill a new deal, having turned down a £40 million bid from Brighton, the club where he excelled on loan last season.

The west London side stated the 20-year-old is not for sale at any price as they consider him a long-term option at centre-half.

Currently, Chelsea are well stocked at the back as they have Thiago Silva, Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Trevoh Chalobah as options in the defence.

A report via the Evening Standard reveal Colwill doesn’t want to be a backup player at Chelsea and wants clarity on his situation before deciding on his future at the West London club.

Like Conor Gallagher, Colwill is another player the Blues want to keep this summer amid the number of players they have sold already.
