Chelsea’s pursuit of West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has been dealt with a huge blow with Manchester United reportedly trying to sign him this summer.

Declan Rice has been linked with the top Premier League clubs following an impressive season with West Ham United and the England squad.

The star midfielder was ever presence in England’s midfield as the Euro’s and he has continue his good performance for David Moyes’s side.

With Chelsea also linked with Rice who was once in their youth set-up, Manchester United are reportedly willing to pounce on Rice’s situation at West Ham.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Rice is refusing to sign a new deal with the Irons and is frustrated by his £100million-plus price tag, which he believes has shut the door to a potential move.

United are now monitoring the situation and are eager to approach West Ham with a deal this summer transfer window rather than wait for next summer.

This might come as a huge surprise to Chelsea who are also linked with the 22-year-old England international but still has the likes of Kante and Jorginho in the midfield.

United also has Paul Pogba in their midfield but the France international has not signed a new contract and might leave on a free transfer next summer.
