Chelsea Set £35m Price Tag on Trevoh Chalobah Amid Uncertain Future

Trevoh Chalobah’s future at Chelsea remains uncertain after he was left behind during the club’s pre-season tour in the United States.

The Blues have had a challenging start to their summer campaign, drawing with newly promoted League One side Wrexham and suffering a heavy defeat to Celtic.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has urged patience, emphasizing that early struggles are a natural part of adapting to his system.

Fortunately, there are still several weeks before the start of the new season, allowing time for both on-pitch improvement and off-pitch adjustments, including new signings and potential departures.

One of the players facing an uncertain future is centre-back Trevoh Chalobah.

Despite being a regular starter towards the end of last season under Mauricio Pochettino, Chalobah was not included in Maresca’s squad for the trip to the USA and has been left to train in West London, likely in search of a new club.

Maresca addressed the situation, stating, “First of all, from my point of view, it’s always sad to leave players out of pre-season, the squad, or the starting eleven. They all work toward the same goal of being part of the team.

“The situation with Trevoh is quite clear. We have Axel, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Wes Fofana, who has been working well and is finally back. We also have younger players like Josh Acheampong, who is doing fantastic. It’s a difficult decision, but we had to make it.”

Given this explanation, speculation surrounding Chalobah’s future has intensified, with little indication of interest from other Premier League clubs.

However, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has suggested that this saga may continue throughout the summer, with Chelsea reportedly demanding a fee between £30 million and £35 million for the 25-year-old.

“There are proposals from both the Premier League and abroad,” Romano told GiveMeSport. “There is interest, but so far there have been no formal offers submitted to Chelsea. They are also waiting to see how things unfold. I believe it will take some time before we know where Chalobah will end up.”
