Chelsea’s move for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has gained attention from the club’s former striker, Tore Andre Flo.

In a statement, Flo praised the Blues for making the move to sign Maignan in the summer transfer window.

According to the former striker, the west London side made a very smart move in their bid for the Milan goalie.

Flo added that the Frenchman will improve the Blues defence line, stating that he is better than the current number one, Robert Sanchez.

The former striker in a statement via Metro urged the Blues to ensure the France international is signed this summer.

“It sounds like a good signing to me. A club like Chelsea would improve the squad straight away if there was any doubt [over Robert Sanchez]. To me it sounds very, very smart,” he said.

Meanwhile, the reports in west London claimed that the Blues have ended their interest in the French goalie.
