Chelsea players regrets signing long term contracts

Chelsea have continued to struggle to impress this season despite welcoming a new manager in Mauricio Pochettino.

Amid their woeful performance, it appears some of the Blues players would be willing to exit the club but their contracts appear to be making it hard for them.

A recent report via The Athletic revealed that several Chelsea players are said to “regret” signing long-term contracts with the Premier League club.

Some of these players are said to have lost faith in the “grand project” at Stamford Bridge.

So far the Blues have splashed more than £1 billion on fresh faces in recent transfer windows since Roman Abramovich agreed to sell the club in 2022.

They have signed the likes of Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Mkyhailo Mudryk, Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke to boost the squad.

However, the arrival of these new players has brought about little progress on the pitch, as the team has tumbled into mid-table mediocrity.

The recent reports that emerged revealed that some of the new arrivals “regret” committing to Premier League heavyweights for quite so long – with seven and eight-year contracts being handed out.
