Former Chelsea defender, William Gallas in a recent statement said that the Blues missed a chance by not securing a move for Cristiano Ronaldo during his free agency period after his release from Manchester United.

While Ronaldo went on to join the Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, Gallas believes the West London side would have been the ideal club for the former Real Madrid star.

With Chelsea’s summer signings Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson struggling to establish themselves as reliable strikers, Gallas believes that Ronaldo’s winning mentality and experience would have benefited the squad greatly.

According to Gallas, it was a mistake for Chelsea not to have signed the 39-year-old forward.

“Chelsea made a mistake by not signing Cristiano Ronaldo,” Gallas Genting Casino.

“He was available to sign and Chelsea would have been a good club for him.

“Everyone knows how important Ronaldo can be in the dressing room, he brings a winning mentality and it could have benefited the squad. It was a mistake by Chelsea.”
