Chelsea have been handed a major boost ahead of their next game against Lille in the Uefa Champions League set to take place on Wednesday night

This comes the Blues manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed in a pre-match statement that the team skipper Cesar Azpilicueta are back in the team and could start against Lille.

Recall that Azpilicueta had been out of the team as he battles with injury and illness, while Alonso tested positive for COVID-19.

Tuchel revealed only Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi remain injury doubts.

“Marcos is ready to start. Azpi is ready to start. We will try to have them (James and Hudson-Odoi) later in training but it will be a very tight race. We will take the decision after training.

“As you know, they were not involved and the injuries that they had, let’s see if it is worth the risk or even possible,” Tuchel told reporters at a press conference.

Chelsea already have an advantage against Lille, having won the first leg in a 2-0 scoreline thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic.
