Chelsea are reportedly close to finalizing the transfer of another player as they work to streamline their squad before the summer transfer window closes.

According to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, a verbal agreement has been reached with Serie A club Empoli for the permanent transfer of Tino Anjorin.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca continues to address the club’s overcrowded squad, with several players deemed surplus to requirements.

These players, who have been training separately from the main team, are expected to leave before the transfer deadline on Friday night.

The departure of these players will not only help Chelsea balance their finances but also make managing the squad more efficient for Maresca.

The Blues have already made significant progress in offloading Romelu Lukaku, who is set to join Napoli. Now, attention has turned to Tino Anjorin, the 22-year-old midfielder who has struggled for regular game time at Chelsea.

Anjorin has had three loan spells at Lokomotiv Moscow, Huddersfield Town, and Portsmouth but has only made one league appearance for Chelsea.

Romano’s latest update indicates that Anjorin is on the verge of securing a permanent move to Empoli in Serie A.

Despite limited opportunities at Chelsea, Anjorin was part of the squad that won the Champions League in the 2020/21 season, earning him a winner’s medal.

Moving to Empoli represents a fresh start for Anjorin, where he will aim to secure regular playing time and further his professional career.

Portsmouth had been linked with a potential loan move for Anjorin, but no formal bid materialized, making Empoli his likely destination.
