Champions League winning coach explains why he snubbed Man Utd
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has opened up on how he turned down the opportunity of managing Manchester United despite having a chat with Alex Ferguson.
Ferguson built a great legacy at Manchester United and there was a lot at stake when he was on the verge of leaving the Old Trafford team.
Ancelotti while speaking ahead of his side clash with Manchester United that is now managed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stated that he met Ferguson before his retirement due to the fact that they had a good relationship.
On the main reason why he rejected the offer to join Manchester United despite having a private conversation with Ferguson, Ancelotti stated that he was close to join Real Madrid but appreciated the fact that at that time the United legend talked to him about it.
Ancelotti went on to heap praise on Manchester United as he labelled the club a fantastic club with a fantastic team.
The Italian is ranked among the best coaches in the world as he has gone on to coach top clubs in Europe like PSG, Juventus, Chelsea and Real Madrid winning numerous trophies.
If Ole should lose to Everton, it would increase the pressure already on him to deliver.
