Chelsea will return to action in the Carabao League on Wednesday when they face Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

Ahead of the game, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino provided an injury update as he revealed Mykhailo Mudryk had a chance of featuring against Tottenham on Monday, but that game would come too soon for Christopher Nkunku.

The manager, however, announced that Reece James would be available to play against Blackburn.

‘I can confirm he is going to start,’ Pochettino reported.

‘The captain is ready. It’s good for the team, it’s good for him to start from the beginning. We can see after, checking always how he is performing.’

Meanwhile, the Blues will hope to bounce back with a win against Blackburn following their surprise defeat to Brentford in the Premier League over the weekend.

Chelsea are also hopeful of moving to the next round of the tournament.
