Brentford striker tipped to join Arsenal in January

Former Real Madrid star, Steve McManaman has tipped Brentford striker Ivan Toney to move to Arsenal in the January transfer window.

As of now Toney is in an eight-month suspension after pleading guilty to 232 betting charges a few months ago.

The England star will return to action in January and he could join the Gunners by then.

This is because there are speculations Toney will leave Brentford once his suspension comes to an end, even though his contract runs until 2025.

But McManaman believes the English player will join Arsenal over Liverpool.

“I believe Liverpool have enough forwards at the moment and they don’t need to make it six,” McManaman told Betfred (as quoted by the Express).

“If Mo Salah leaves in the summer then maybe this move would make sense but once January comes, I believe that Arsenal could be a spiritual home for Ivan Toney.

“I know that Arsenal and Brentford have a really good relationship so maybe that would be a much easier route to take for Ivan.”
