Boost for Chelsea in race for Osimhen

Chelsea may have been handed a boost in their bid to sign Nigerian star Victor Osimhen from Serie A side Napoli.

This comes as the recent report claimed that the Blues have gotten some form of encouragement in their bid to sign Osimhen, whom the Italian giants are willing to lower their asking price for.

There are speculations that Romelu Lukaku could be involved in the Blues’ deal for Osimhen.

A report via Italian media Corriere dello Sport disclosed that both Chelsea and Napoli are willing to reduce their demands for their respective strikers.

While Napoli will reduce their demands for Osimhen, the Blues will also not insist that the Serie A club meet their original asking price of £37.5m and could instead accept anything between €20m (£16.9m) and €25m (£21.1m).

However, Chelsea may still feel that Napoli’s demands are excessive and could turn their focus on a younger and cheaper alternatives to Osimhen.

Chelsea also have Arsenal and French Ligue 1 side PSG to compete with in the race for Osimhen.

So far Chelsea have already signed Marc Guiu from Barcelona for £5m and have also signed Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa, while two of their bids for Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion have been rejected.
