Chelsea have been given a huge boost ahead of their meeting against Manchester City as the citizens might play the match without their number one goalkeeper, Ederson.

Manchester City have been having free days for the past one week as their match against high-flying Everton had to be cancelled due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in the team.

Though the numbers of player affected with virus in Pep Guardiola’s team was not disclosed, it had been reported that up to five players has joined Gabriel Jesus and Kyle Walker who had earlier tested positive for the virus.

Manchester City were allowed to start their training some days ago after another round of emergency testing and this means their Sunday’s showdown with Chelsea could hold.

However, Ederson is not among the players that returned to training as the Brazilian provided the update on his Instagram story.

Ederson while sharing a picture of himself dressed up for New Year’s Eve noted that he just prepared for the photo and he is isolated.

Manchester City have been having a mixed season ever since the new season started as they’ve been forced to miss some key players due to the coronavirus pandemic as well as injury.

Pep Guardiola will hope Ederson recovers as soon as possible as he has been a prominent figure in the team ever since he joined from Benfica.
