Barcelona have reportedly turned their attention to Arsenal’s top target, Alexander Isak, as they anticipate Manchester United winning the race to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres.

The La Liga giants are in the market for a new No. 9 to succeed Robert Lewandowski, who will be 37 by the start of the 2026-27 season. Despite the Polish striker’s impressive form—netting 31 goals in 33 games this season and 90 in 128 appearances since joining the club—Barcelona are planning for the future.

Under Hansi Flick, Barcelona are enjoying a strong season and could move to the top of La Liga with a win over Rayo Vallecano on Monday night. They have also performed well in Europe, securing automatic qualification for the Champions League knockout stages.

Finding a suitable successor for Lewandowski is a top priority, and according to Mundo Deportivo, Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak has emerged as their preferred option. The Swedish forward’s technical ability, pace, and goal-scoring prowess make him an attractive target for the Catalan club.

As Barcelona and Arsenal both monitor Isak’s situation, the summer transfer window could see a fierce battle for his signature.

With Newcastle keen to keep hold of their star striker, any potential deal is expected to come at a significant cost. However, Barcelona’s long-term vision and need for a marquee forward could push them to make a serious move for Isak in the coming months.
