Chelsea captain and Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta has refused to address his future at Stamford Bridge amid the link to La Liga club Barcelona.

Azpilicueta’s current contract with the Blues will lapse at the end of the season, and there is no indication he would get an extension.

There are already claims that he landed a two year deal with the Catalans ahead of next season.

However, when asked about the situation during a Spain press conference, the top-rated defender said that he was not prepared to discuss his future at this moment in time.

“It’s not the right place and the right moment to discuss my future”, Azpilicueta told reporters.

So far this season, the Spaniard had been a vital player for Chelsea under coach Thomas Tuchel, scoring twice and creating three assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.

Aside from Azpilicueta, other players that could leave Chelsea this summer include Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, whose contracts will also expire at the end of this season.
