Chelsea striker and Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked with a shocking return to Spanish giant Barcelona this summer.

This latest update was made public by popular football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, who claimed that the Catalan’s priority target to act as Robert Lewandowski is Athletico Paranaense’s Vitor Roque.

However, if the La Liga side are unable to secure a deal for Roque, they would make a move to sign Aubameyang.

“Barcelona priority target as new back up striker remains Vitor Roque, as the Brazilian gem is considered a potential future top player.

“Pierre Aubameyang, appreciated and in list since January — option could be activated if Roque deal collapses. He’d love to join Barça,” Romano tweeted.

Meanwhile, Aubameyang has fallen out of favour at Chelsea after he celebrated with Barcelona players after their win against Real Madrid.

The Gabonese who was a key player at Arsenal has been unable to impress at Stamford Bridge since joining the Blues from Barca.
