Atletico Madrid interested in Gallagher

Spanish side Atletico Madrid have shown interest in signing Chelsea star Conor Gallagher in the ongoing summer transfer window.

This was made public by popular football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who disclosed that the La Liga side have made contact with the Blues for Gallagher, as he’s one of the names on the shortlist.

Atletico Madrid will, however, be ready to part ways with some millions to secure a deal for Gallagher as Chelsea are expected to put a huge price tag on their captain.

With one year left on his contract with the Blues, Gallagher is reportedly valued around £50 million, an amount which the Spanish club might be unwilling to pay.

Meanwhile, there have been speculations that 24-year-old could move away from Stamford Bridge following the appointment of Enzo Maresca as the Blues new manager last month.

Aside from Madrid, Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspurs are among those that have been linked with interest for the midfielder, who is currently with the Three Lions of England at Euro 2024.

Chelsea have more than enough midfielders in their squad and parting ways with Gallagher may not affect them.

However, they will prefer to sell him to another club outside the Premier League.
