Arteta Looks to Add World-Class Quality to Arsenal’s Front Line
Arsenal have been urged to make a move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola this summer, with European football expert Andy Brassell describing the Frenchman as a player capable of taking Mikel Arteta’s side to another level.
The Gunners are expected to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign, and Barcola has emerged as one of several high-profile targets under consideration. The 23-year-old has been linked with a switch to north London alongside the likes of Morgan Rogers, Julian Alvarez and Christos Tzolis as Arsenal look to add greater quality and depth in the final third.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Brassell suggested that Barcola would represent a significant upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli and could thrive under Arteta’s guidance. He believes the Arsenal manager’s coaching style and tactical approach could help unlock another level in the winger’s game, potentially transforming him into one of the Premier League’s elite attacking talents.
Interestingly, Arteta has not signed a French player since taking charge of Arsenal in 2019, meaning a move for Barcola would end a seven-year wait for a French arrival at the Emirates.
Barcola remains under contract with PSG until 2028, but uncertainty over a new deal has fuelled speculation about his future. Reports in France have indicated that the European champions may be willing to consider offers if negotiations over an extension fail to reach a positive conclusion.
While no formal approach has been confirmed, Arsenal’s interest appears genuine as they continue their search for attacking reinforcements. If a deal can be agreed, Barcola could become one of the club’s marquee signings of the summer and a key figure in Arteta’s plans for the seasons ahead.
