Arsenal set to sign £50 million midfielder from EPL rivals

Arsenal are keen on making some new additions to their squad this January transfer window.

A report via Nieuwsblad Sport revealed the Gunners are already in talks with Everton over midfielder Amadou Onana.

Despite breaking records to sign Declan Rice last summer transfer window, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen on adding new options in the midfield.

Arteta has identified Onana and Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz as the players to sign.

However, Aston Villa are likely to demand a high price for Luiz, as he still has more than two years remaining on his current contract.

On the other hand, Onana is a less expensive option, and Arsenal are currently in talks with the Toffees over a move for the 22-year-old.

Recall that Manchester United attempted to sign Onana last summer but Everton demanded a £50 million transfer fee.
