Following a poor performance in the Premier League this season, Arsenal could be on their way to missing out playing in Europe for the first time in 25 years.

To prevent a repeat of their poor form from this season next season, the Gunners have stressed that there would be an overhaul in the team.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, the latest report has revealed that the Gunners are now in talks to sign Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand.

The report revealed that the 31-year-old defender has failed to agree on terms with the Saints over a new deal and is set to leave the club when his contract expires next month.

According to Goal, the Gunners are currently in negotiations with Bertrand’s representatives to try and bring the former Chelsea defender to the Emirates.

If Arsenal can sign him, he would be a backup for Kieran Tierney.

The Gunners will, however, have to be wary of competitions from Man Utd and AS Monaco who are also interested in signing the defender.
