There are now indications that Arsenal can get to sign their midfielder, Martin Odeegard permanently from Real Madrid this summer.

This comes following the return of former Everton coach, Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid.

Recall that Ancelotti left Everton after 18 months at the club only to make a return to Real Madrid for the second time.

During Ancelotti’s first spell at Real Madrid in 2016, he worked with Odegaard but he as at then told president Florentino Perez that he did not approve the purchase of the 22-year-old midfielder, suggesting he only signed as part of a ‘PR stunt’.

According to the Daily Mirror, Ancelotti does not view the Norwegian as part of his long-term plans with Real Madrid and will allow him to move elsewhere this summer.

With Arsenal looking to bolster their squad this summer, they would be interested in making Odegaard’s loan deal permanent.

This season, Odegaard made 14 Premier League appearances for the North London club after joining on a temporary deal in January, recording just one goal and two assists.

In another report, Arsenal finished below the top 6 and wouldn’t be playing in Europe next season, they will have to focus fully on the Premier League and ensure a return to the top 6 at least.
