Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man United Offered Bargain Transfer for Guinea international

Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy is set to spark a bidding war this summer transfer window, as the Guinea international is available for just £15 million due to a release clause in his contract.

Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea have a chance to sign the Bundesliga star, who has had an exceptional season, even outscoring former Tottenham ace Harry Kane early on by breaking a Robert Lewandowski goalscoring record.

Guirassy moved from Rennes to Stuttgart initially on loan two years ago, making the switch permanent last summer. He proved his worth by scoring a record-breaking 14 goals in his first eight Bundesliga matches of the 2023/24 season.

Lewandowski previously held the record with 12 goals in the first eight league games of the 2019/20 season with Bayern Munich, while Harry Kane managed nine goals in his first eight Bundesliga appearances after joining Bayern last summer.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Guirassy’s release clause will be active this summer, and Premier League clubs have already shown interest. The bidding for the 28-year-old is expected to start in July.

Despite not scoring at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, Guirassy ended the Bundesliga season with 28 goals in as many appearances, helping Stuttgart finish second behind champions Bayer Leverkusen, and ahead of Munich in third.

Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund is also keen on signing Guirassy and will compete with English clubs for his signature. However, Stuttgart’s chairman Alexander Wehrle has stated that Guirassy is happy at his current club.

“It was already clear last summer that he was leaving, and I already heard in the winter where he is said to have already signed,” Wehrle commented. “The fact is, he feels comfortable. He is an undisputed leader for the first time in his career, he knows what he has in [Stuttgart manager] Sebastian Hoeness and the coaching team. He can now also play [in] the Champions League. That’s another argument. For many it is clear that he is leaving, for me it is not at all clear. But we will sit down after the season.”
