Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez who is currently on international duty with his home country Argentina has reacted to his tweaked role at Stamford Bridge under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Fernandez, who arrived at Chelsea from Benfica in the January transfer window saw his position tweaked by the Blues head coach who is also a compatriot.

Pochettino gave more attacking responsibility to Fernandez.

In a statement before Argentina’s match vs Ecuador, Fernandez revealed playing further forward was not a problem for him because he played the same role as a younger player.

He said: ‘Now I am playing further forward [at Chelsea], but it is not a problem because as a boy I played as a five and of eight.

‘I don’t have a problem but it is a big difference: you have to stay with the defenders more as a five, while you have to let go more and help the forwards as an eight.’
