Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is eager to ensure his side starts the new Premier League campaign in strong fashion, but much of that ambition will depend on the club’s activity in the transfer market over the coming weeks.

The Gunners are set to begin the defence of their Premier League title against Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium on August 21, giving sporting director Andrea Berta valuable time to strengthen the squad before the season gets underway. Although the summer transfer window remains open until September 1, Arsenal will be keen to complete the majority of their business well before the deadline.

The club is reportedly exploring several high-profile additions, with Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers and Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez among the names linked with a move to north London.

Alvarez, in particular, has been heavily associated with Arsenal in recent months. The Argentine World Cup winner would add quality, versatility, and proven goal-scoring ability to Arteta’s attacking options, while Rogers could provide creativity and energy across multiple positions.

Arteta and Berta are aware that maintaining Arsenal’s place at the top of English football will require further investment and smart recruitment. The club has already made significant progress under the current management team, but the challenge now is to build on that success.

Should Arsenal secure their key targets before the season begins, Arteta could have a formidable squad capable of competing on multiple fronts and defending their Premier League crown.
