Alonso’s reign at Chelsea: One player who wants to leave before manager ‘s arrival

Former Chelsea player, Emmanuel Petit, has shared his take about the incoming manager Xabi Alonso and how it could make Enzo Fernandez want to leave the Stamford Bridge this summer.
According to Petit, the Argentina World Cup winner is ‘fed up’ at the West London side and should exit the club
“Enzo Fernandez should go, you cannot keep a player happy if he wants to leave,” Petit said via BetVictor.
“He did say that he wanted to leave, and he was fined by the club. Obviously, he wants to leave the club. We are not stupid,” he added.
Petit also claimed Fernandez may already be Real Madrid’s target list as the Spanish club are desperate to get some strong midfield players.
“I won’t be surprised if he leaves the club and goes to Real Madrid or somewhere else,” he said.
Recall that in April 2026, the Blues suspended Fernandez for two matches for publicly expressing a desire to live in Madrid, Spain.
Former Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior and the club’s hierarchy considered his remark a breach of their culture, stating that he “crossed a line” at a time when the club was trying to qualify for European football.
