It seems Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso is set to join the list of players that have left Stamford Bridge this summer.

This comes as the report revealed that Alonso has already bid some Chelsea staff goodbye.

Alonso has been a rumoured target for Barcelona this summer alongside his Chelsea team-mate Cesar Azpilicueta.

While Azpilicueta will now stay put at Stamford Bridge, the signing of Marc Cucurella from B & Hove Albion has opened the door for Alonso’s departure.

According to the Daily Mail, Alonso has already said his goodbyes to the staff at Chelsea’s Cobham training complex ahead of the transfer to Barcelona, which could be completed this weekend.

The Spaniard, who has already agreed personal terms with the La Liga club is expected to sign a two-year contract at Camp Nou.

It is, however, uncertain Barcelona will be able to carry on with a deal for Alonso owing to their financial issues.

As of the recent reports, Barcelona will have to sell some players before they can register their summer signings after La Liga rejected their attempts to register their summer signings.
