Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, in a recent statement has explained why Bukayo Saka was substituted during their 0-0 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.

There were doubts Saka would play in the Premier League clash at the Etihad, but he was handed a start against the champions.

However, the 22-year-old was taken off in the 78th minute of the encounter.

The England international was replaced by Gabriel Martinelli after he went down clutching his leg in the second half.

Arteta, in a post-match comment, however, insisted that Saka was okay and was only struggling with fatigue.

“Nothing serious. As you know, he has been out for a few weeks now with a little problem.

“He was feeling fatigued. He only trained one day before the match. He had a big contribution but it was a lot, 90 minutes for him today,” Arteta said.
