Van Dijk rates Arsenal’s chances of winning Premier League
Arsenal and Liverpool went head to head during the weekend in the Premier League.
Following the match, Liverpool defender and the Netherlands international, Vigil van Dijk couldn’t help but rate Arsenal’s chances of winning the title this season.
Van Dijk refused to rule the North London club out of the Premier League title race after they played a 2-2 draw with the Reds on Sunday.
The goals from Bukayo Saka, Van Dijk, Mikel Merino and Mohamed Salah ensured the two clubs earn a point each at Emirates Stadium.
Following the draw, Arne Slot’s Liverpool side are now in second position with 22 points from 9 games, while Arsenal sit in third position with 18 points from the same number of matches.
Both football clubs are behind Premier League champions, Manchester City, who have 23 points.
Speaking after the game, Van Dijk stated that Mikel Arteta’s side are not out of the title race at the moment.
“Man City lost here and they won the league… I have read so many things that Arsenal are out of the title race if they lose,” Van Dijk said via Fabrizio Romano.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will return to action in the EFL on Wednesday when they play Preston.
