UCL: Arteta charges Arsenal players ahead of possible knockout qualification vs Sevilla

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has sent a message to his players ahead of the Champions League game vs Spanish club Sevilla on Wednesday.

Arteta is hoping the Gunners will be able to wrap up qualification to the knockout stage as soon as they can.

The Gunners’ victory in Seville two weeks ago saw them move past Lens to the top of the group, and a possible win in the return game against Sevilla coupled with PSV Eindhoven failing to defeat the French side would see Arsenal secure a spot in the top two.

Arteta is hoping Arsenal will claim a third win from their opening four games to reduce the pressure mentally and physically on his players going into the final two matchdays.

Reflecting on the scenario, he said: “The moment you have a chance in football to put it to bed, do it. We have to do a lot of things right tomorrow to earn the right to win it against a really good team with enormous experience in this competition.

“We have to prove tomorrow in front of our people how excited we are to play that game and what it means for us.”
