Reports: Arsenal fans urges Mikel Arteta to recall of out-of-favour midfielder

Some fans of Arsenal football club have urged Mikel Arteta to recall out-of-favour midfielder Lucas Torreira to the first team after falling out of pecking order.

Torreira has failed to convince Arsenal manager and he was forced to spend last season on loan at Atletico Madrid where he won the La Liga.

The Uruguay international is now back in Arsenal after given an extended break due to his participation at the Copa America.

His arrival has now sparked reactions from some fans who believes he should be preferred in the team ahead of Granit Xhaka.

Xhaka was linked with a move to AS Roma in the early days of the summer transfer window but a deal was not sorted out.

The Switzerland international is now reportedly on the verge of signing a new deal with Torreira set to be shipped out on loan for another season.

Despite a fine first season at Arsenal under Unai Emery for the 2018-19 campaign, Torreira might also be leaving Arsenal on a permanent deal this summer.

Torreira reportedly has suitors in Italy and it’s left to see if Mikel Arteta will listen to fans plea and retain Torreira at the North London club.
